Dispatches from Fourteen Light-Years Away
No. 7 · A Couple of Days Late (Good Reason) · June 4, 2026
This one’s a couple of days late. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law passed away last weekend. We spent three days celebrating her life with an Irish wake: tea and whiskey, cold sandwiches, old photographs, and her family and friends played music and exchanged stories until the morning. In Ireland, the dead don’t stay alone during the night before the funeral. But she would have told me to get on with it. So here I am.
The book has been live for almost a week now. Some of you grabbed it last Thursday and I’ve been refreshing my inbox like a crazy person, lol.
